That's the Sound of America's Jaw Hitting the Floor
So when exactly does this constitutional crisis start?
FBI Director James Comey has just joined Sally Yates and Preet Bharara on the unemployment line.
The timing is a little weird.
- On Monday, Former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates testified about her warnings to Trump about Michael Flynn.
- Yesterday, Senate Intelligence officials requested records of Trump business ties from FinCEN, the Treasury Department's money laundering division.
- Last night, federal prosecutors issued grand jury subpoenas to former associates of Michael Flynn.
- Today, Trump met with Russia's top foreign diplomat, Sergei Lavrov.
The closest thing we could find to something funny about this story comes courtesy of The New York Times:
"Mr. Comey was addressing a group of F.B.I. employees in Los Angeles when a television in the background flashed the news that he had been fired. In response, Mr. Comey laughed, saying he thought it was a fairly funny prank. Then his staff started scurrying around in the background and told Mr. Comey that he should step into a nearby office."
