47 year old Army Veteran Lee Hernandez served for 18 years, including a deployment to Iraq.

He has since developed an unknown, terminal illness, for which he has undergone 3 brain surgeries.  But his condition continues to deteriorate.  Doctors are unable to find a cure, and he is currently living in hospice care in Texas.

According to his wife Ernestine, as reported to USA Today, his last wish is to hear from people – even strangers.
