How to Help Protect Farmworker Safety Amidst California's Wildfires
California's wildfires just won't stop.
The flames have put lives and homes at risk, without regard to neighborhood or class.
But the smoke is impacting one group of Californians disproportionately: farmworkers in the fields of California's central coast.
How to help protect farmworker safety
Donate to the Central Coast Alliance United for a Sustainable Economy (CAUSE) and the Mixteco/Indígena Community Organizing Project (MICOP), two of the groups buying and distributing protective masks for people working in smoke-laden fields.
Call upon the leader of California's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal/OSHA), Juliann Sum (510.286.7000), to reopen Cal/OSHA's regional offices and provide masks to farmworkers.
