Not Just Silicon Valley
The Washington Post just published a bombshell report about a long-running class action lawsuit against Sterling Jewelers, which owns both the Kay and Jared chains.
There are - wait for it - 250 declarations on behalf of a class of 69,000 current and former employees alleging sexual harassment and pay discrimination in the workplace since 2008.
The Washington Post reports, for example, some male managers "dispatched scouting parties to stores to find female employees they wanted to sleep with, laughed about women’s bodies in the workplace, and pushed female subordinates into sex by pledging better jobs, higher pay or protection from punishment."
