How does our immigration system treat veterans?
Today Miguel Perez Jr., a wounded veteran who did two tours of duty in Afghanistan, is at risk of deportation over a nonviolent drug offense.
A legal permanent resident, he has lived in the US for nearly three decades, since age 8. He came home from war with PTSD and fell into drug addiction.
After serving 7 years in prison, he is now one of thousands of veterans at risk of deportation.
