Can I Borrow $89,000?

Can I Borrow $89,000?

Straight out of pharma bro Martin Shkreli's playbook, Marathon Pharmaceuticals has taken a muscular dystrophy drug available overseas, shepherded it through the FDA process, and now plans to sell it on the American market for $89,000 (70 times the European and Canadian price).

For that markup, the drug gets a cool new name: Emflaza.

Perhaps Shkreli, former CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals, said it best. "Marathon. Bro. These guys invented price increases. I literally learned it from them."

Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Elijah Cummings just wrote a letter to Marathon with a few pointed questions.
