80 Cents on the Dollar
Today is Equal Pay Day, an annual reminder of how far into the year women must work to be paid the same as men (yup, it's already April 4).
According to Phenomenal Woman, working women earn roughly 80 cents for every dollar a man earns. That gap is much wider for women of color (63 cents and 54 cents for Black and Latina women respectively).
Last week, the Trump Administration revoked the Obama-era "fair pay" executive order that helped advance gender pay equity.
How to help secure equal pay for equal work
Hey men ... donate your "extra" salary today in recognition of the wage gap, as part of Phenomenal Woman's Equal Pay Day solidarity campaign. Your donation will support 7 women-led organizations: The United State of Women, Girls Who Code, Essie Justice Group, Emerge America, Emily's List, NARAL Pro-Choice America, and Planned Parenthood Education Fund.
Raise awareness of the wage gap and look cool doing it by sharing these graphics and wearing this shirt.
