#Bring Back Our Girls

The Nigerian government has negotiated with Boko Haram to secure the release of 82 more Chibok schoolgirls.

They were kidnapped more than 3 years ago.

This good news could be attributed in part to pressure on the government, from a recent sit-in by mothers of some of the missing girls to the persistence of the #BringBackOurGirls online campaign.

113 Chibok schoolgirls are still being held hostage. Many hundreds or thousands more children are thought to also be held by Boko Haram.

How to help the Chibok schoolgirls

Tweet with the hashtags #BringBackOurGirls and #3YearsTooLong, and add your photo or video to the #BringBackOurGirls Tumblr blog. The campaign has helped keep the world from forgetting, which in turn keeps the pressure on the Nigerian government to work for their release.

Support International Alert's and UNICEF's work to provide trauma counseling and prevent stigmatization of released schoolgirls.

Support The Malala Fund's work to ensure girls in Nigeria, including released Chibok schoolgirls, can attend school. According to the Fund, Nigeria has the largest number of girls not in school.
