A United Airlines gate agent stopped two girls from boarding a flight because they were ... um ... wearing leggings.

Needless to say, the internets are ablaze.

In response to United's explanation about their being on "company benefit" business travel, Patricia Arquette tweeted it best: "@United: Leggings are business attire for 10 year olds. Their business is being children."

Even Delta's Twitter team had a response.

Our question: why wasn't their dad, who was wearing shorts that "did not hit his knee", in violation of United's dress code?
