How to Help Trump Learn About Countries He Thinks Are Shitholes

Always one to out-classy himself, our dear leader just called Haiti and African nations "shithole countries" during a conversation with members of Congress about immigration policy.

He also asked "why do we want people from Haiti here?", which sounds a little something like his assertion last year that Haitians "all have AIDS".

The New York Times reports that Trump wishes to instead welcome people from "places like Norway."

Pretty sure we know what he meant by that.

(Editor's note: seems more than a few Norwegians would pass on the offer.)

The shock value of his words aside, Trump's racism and xenophobia has real-life impact.

In November 2016, he announced an end to Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for more than 58,000 Haitians who fled the 2010 earthquake.

Salvadorans, Nicaraguans, and Hondurans and others are also at risk of deportation.
