Pardon Me? Help Stop President Trump from Doing So

Turns out President Trump doesn’t want to just let Dinesh D’Souza, Martha Stewart, and Rod Blagojevich off the hook.

This morning he tweeted about his absolute right to pardon himself (ALL CAPS FOR EMPHASIS, JUST AS THE FOUNDERS INTENDED!)

Here are 5 ways to help make sure that doesn’t happen

Check out the full list of exactly what Trump might want to pardon himself for, courtesy of our friends at Corrupt.AF.

Call your Senator and your representative (202.224.3121) to urge passage of legislation protecting Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Trump’s Russia ties. There are two Senate bills (S. 1735 and S. 1741) and one House bill (H.R. 3771). Indivisible has a great phone script and guide for visiting your representative's office.

Visit the aptly-titled www.trumpisnotabovethelaw.org, where groups are planning a rapid response to the possible firings of Mueller and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. More than 350,000 people have already RSVPd to 900+ scheduled emergency events.

Read our prior posts on what Mueller’s and Rosenstein’s job security mean for American democracy.

Have you previously worked at the Department of Justice? Join DOJ alumni (like Sally Yates, the former acting attorney general fired by Trump) by signing this open letter advocating for the rule of law in the Trump era.
